Dynamics Modeling and Simulation of a Net Closing Mechanism for Tether-Net Capture

Tether-net is a promising active debris removal technique, and closing mechanism can ensure the reliable wrapping of space by using tether-net. This study focuses on dynamics model split sliding joint between thread ring. First, new kind proposed, which drives to close net mouth through masses, mass-spring-damper method used Thereafter, for first time, thread-ring proposed based method, be simulate process Finally, one-edge closure experiment carried out experimental results are compared with simulation results, tether-net simulated joint. Results reveal that relative slip ring, wrap target reliably in short time system. The make it possible successfully, whether starts work before or after contacts target.
